Ignore Options

The following chat functions can be used to ignore or avoid unwanted chat contact in Diablo IIĀ (2000).

Do Not Disturb

The Do Not Disturb (DND) feature prevents direct chat contact or whispers. You can set up a custom message that will display when another player contacts you. While in DND, you are able to see and participate in public contact channels. To use DND, type the following in chat:

  • /dnd

To set a custom message for DND, type the following in chat:

  • /dnd text

(Example: /dnd Sorry, playing a game with Droktar.)

Ignore

The Ignore feature prevents direct chat contact or whispers from all characters on the specified player's account, but this only protects the character you are currently logged on with. To use Ignore, type the following in chat:

  • /ignore user

or

  • /squelch user

Replace user with the name of the character contacting you.

Unignore

The Unignore feature removes a specific player from the ignore list and restores the ability to receive whispers from that player. To use Unignore, type the following in chat:

  • /unignore user

or

  • /unsquelch user

Replace user with the name of the character contacting you.

Chat Protection Options

There are three separate options a user can set to customize which incoming chat messages are ignored or hidden through in-game chat commands: Whispers, Public, and Private.

Whispers

The Whispers feature allows you to ignore all whispers from players who are not on your friends list. To use the feature, type the following in chat:

  • /options ignorewhispers

To reallow whispers, type the following in chat:

  • /options unignorewhispers

Public

The Public feature allows you to ignore all public channel messages from players who are not on your friends list. To use this feature, type the following in chat:

  • /options ignorepublic

To reallow messages in public chat channels:

  • /options unignorepublic

Private

The Private feature allows you to ignore all private channel messages from players who are not on your friends list. To use this feature, type the following in chat:

  • /options ignoreprivate

To reallow messages in private chat channels:
