Free Character Migration in WoW Classic Era, Seasonal, or Hardcore Realms
Common Problems
- I don't see the option to transfer for free from my realm.
- I can't start free transfer to move my character from Hardcore realm.
- What transfers are available in Season of Discovery?
Free Character Transfer is a free service to move a character to and from select realms. Check our Character Migration Information and Restrictions article on how to start a free transfer.
Free Character Transfers may only be available for a limited time. Blizzard Customer Support cannot provide free transfers.
Free Transfers from the following realms are currently disabled:
- Deviate Delight (US)
- Grobbulus (US)
- Zandalar Tribe (EU)
With the exceptions above, WoW Classic Era characters can transfer for free to the following realms:

In addition to overall Character Migration Restrictions:
- You can only transfer characters from and to the same realm type (PvP or PvE)
- You can't transfer characters from a realm that is already connected to the above listed realms
Hardcore Characters (dead or alive) can be transferred at any time for free from a Hardcore realm to one of the Classic Era realms:
It is not possible to transfer or between Hardcore realms, not with Free Migration, nor Paid Character Transfer.

Note: Initiating a Free Character Migration on a Season of Discovery realm will clear the moving character's mailbox. This includes mails from the Auction House. To avoid the loss of mail, we suggest clearing your mailbox before performing the transfer.
