General Information & Restrictions

There are a number of limitations that may prevent you from joining a guild. You can find some troubleshooting steps for those common issues below.:

Guilds have a maximum member limit of 1000 characters. You will be unable to join a guild which has reached this limit. To resolve this issue, ask the Guild Leader or a Guild Officer to make room for you if the Guild is currently full.

You cannot join a guild when your WoW account is silenced. Guilds are a social feature and all social features are blocked during a silence. Try again after the silence has ended.

Your character must be on the same realm that the guild was created on or a realm connected to that realm. If you are not, you will not be able to join the guild. To join, you will need to transfer your character to the correct realm.

Make sure that your guild invites are not blocked using the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Open the Game Menu (default Escape key)
  2. Click the Options button
  3. Select the Social submenu
  4. Make sure Block Guild Invites is unchecked
