A scam is the act of acquiring goods or services from another player through misinformation, confusion, or fraud. This typically happens when one of the parties violates their part of an agreement or enters a deal with bad faith.

While we will always investigate and penalize scammers when appropriate, we recognize two different types of player transactions that determine what additional assistance we can provide: Supported and Unsupported.

Supported Transactions

For supported transactions, if we can verify a scam took place, we will action the scammer and attempt to reverse the transaction.

This type of scam only includes the following scenarios:

  • Trade Scam: When a written agreement is made for a standard trade, trades completed through impersonation or using item icon manipulation, and one party does not follow the agreement; this does not cover transactions relating to other services, loot distributions, or crafting orders.
  • Guild Bank Theft: When the scammer impersonates someone to gain access to a guild bank.

Anything that does not appear in the list above, would be considered an unsupported transaction.

Unsupported Transactions

All transactions not listed in the supported transactions above are considered unsupported. In this type of situation, we will still take the appropriate actions against any scam we can verify, but Customer Support will not restore lost gold or items as a result of an unsupported scam.

Examples include but are not limited to: Boosting Scams, Deathrolls or Casinos and Ninja Loot (where the looting agreement has been clearly stated in-game only).
